About This Service
The air distribution system in your property is a direct pathway to every occupied space. Accumulated particulate, microbial growth, and debris within ductwork and dryer vents compromise indoor air quality, reduce HVAC efficiency, and create conditions that contribute to respiratory concerns and fire risk. Salem Steamer performs duct and vent remediation using source-removal methodology aligned with NADCA standards — not surface-only approaches. Every accessible component of the air pathway is addressed, from the supply and return registers to the main trunk lines and the air handling unit itself.
Our Process
A pre-service inspection maps the ductwork layout, identifies access points, and documents existing conditions including visible accumulation, microbial indicators, and mechanical condition of dampers and registers.
A high-powered negative air machine is connected to the main trunk line, establishing continuous negative pressure throughout the system. This ensures that dislodged particulate is captured rather than redistributed into the occupied space.
Each branch line and supply register is treated using agitation tools calibrated to duct diameter and material. Debris is dislodged and transported to the collection point under negative pressure in a controlled, methodical sequence.
Dryer vents are cleared of accumulated lint and debris — the primary cause of residential dryer fires. A post-service airflow and visual inspection confirms system clearance before the HVAC system is returned to operation.
